Despite falling short in their two ANZ Championship netball pre-season matches at the weekend, Kia Magic coach Julie Fitzgerald was happy enough with the team’s progress.

Kia Magic begin their ANZ Championship netball quest in earnest this weekend with two pre-season games against Central Pulse in New Plymouth.

Combining the unknown with a touch of familiarity has shooter Ellen Halpenny buzzing about Kia Magic’s prospects in next season’s ANZ Championship netball competition.

Katherine Coffin has never strayed far from home which makes her elevation to the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic team for next year’s ANZ Championship netball competition all the more special.

Experienced international defensive duo Casey Kopua and Leana de Bruin have been named captain and vice-captain respectively of Kia Magic for this year’s ANZ Championship netball competition.

After successfully guiding Waikato Bay of Plenty to the inaugural national under-23 title, Mary-Jane Araroa has been reappointed head coach for 2014.

Netball WBOP would like to congratulate Marcia Jerram (Waikato Diocesan) for being invited to trial for the NZ Secondary Schools team in April 2014.
