Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty is one of five Zones affiliated to Netball New Zealand that oversees the promotion, development and growth of netball in the Waikato Bay of Plenty region. Our Zone reaches from Mercury Bay down the coast to Gisborne, across to Turangi and Taumarunui, which includes 25 Netball Centres and over 25,000 members.
We are seeking a NetballSmart Development Office (NSDO) to join our team in this a 0.75FTE position (30 hours per week). Whilst the focus is Hamilton with a base in the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone office, this is a Zone-wide role, (requiring travel across the Zone).
The NetballSmart Development Officer will be responsible for leading the delivery of Netball New Zealand’s innovative and highly effective NetballSmart Strategy in the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone. The key focus is on decreasing serious injuries in Netball participants through the provision of programmes and initiatives that;
- Prevent injury and enhance performance
- Improve player welfare
- Increase awareness and engagement with the NetballSmart philosophy and programmes
The successful applicant will have a background in Physiotherapy, Sports Science and/or Strength and Conditioning with knowledge of injury prevention strategies in Sport. Netball knowledge and some experience in delivery of workshops is also required.
You will be a skilled communicator, highly organised, well planned and reliable. The ability to build and maintain a network of strong relationships and work closely with NNZ, Zone and Centre staff and volunteers in the Netball community is essential.
