Maddison Coffey

I am 15 years old and am in Year 10 at Hamilton Girls’ High School. I began umpiring in 2017 as a Year 9 but have been involved in netball as a school and representative player since 2012. In 2017 I went to UNISS with Hamilton Girls’ after gaining my Centre practical and was moved from D grade to B grade by the end of the week. I was also awarded the trophy for the greatest contribution to sport as an official at HGHS.

2018 has been a big year for my umpiring career as I gained my Zone theory in August and went to UNISS again with Hamilton Girls’ where I received my Zone Award and was given the C grade 3rd and 4th play off. I also attended AIMS Games with Marian Catholic School where I received the B grade semi, B grade 3rd and 4th play off and was reserve for the B grade final. I was recently awarded the trophy for the greatest contribution to sport as an official at HGHS for the second year in a row.

I am incredibly grateful for all the opportunities and support I have received over the last two years and am excited to see where 2019 takes me.
