A good start to the game, with ball speed and patience on attack, and team pressure on defence enabled the 16 -11 lead after the first quarter.
A slow start in the second quarter where movement was limited on attack, and the injection of height in the shooting circle allowed Marvels to creep back into the game upon half time.
A change of positions through the mid-court, and the injection of explosiveness from Lisa Mather into WD, kept the Marvels guessing on attack, and we lead the third quarter 13 – 9.
The fourth quarter left us begging as crucial turnovers on our centre passes in the dying 5 minutes of the game allowed Marvels to storm home for the win.
Critical moments under pressure, highlights our inexperience and youthfulness – however is also our weapon once we understand how to use it!
