The Magic Zone launched the Level 2 Performance Programme at Cambridge High School yesterday.The purpose of the Level 2 programme is to prepare athletes to transition to BEKO and ANZ levels.
The delivery of the programme included sessions with experienced HPSNZ staff, some which covered education on performance nutrition, conditioning and psychology, the programme continues throughout the upcoming season to grow all areas of the game so the transition is positive and expectations are clear.
In addition, the Magic Zone held trials for the 2017 BEKO squad.
Up to 40 trialist’s had an opportunity to compete for a position in the squad that will support the Magic team and compete in the second year of the BEKO competition.
The BEKO team is an important part of the performance pathway into ANZ netball and the following athletes will represent the Magic Zone under the guidance of Head Coach Rebecca Greenhalgh “It was an incredibly hard process to select the 16 which is a credit to the netballers in the Zone and I am excited at the range of talent both youth and experience we have in the squad.
I am looking forward to working with the girls over the next while and finalising the team in February”.
